Expression mapping is an interesting technique that can bring MIDI performances to life, with the right instruments, and Steinberg introduced a fabulous feature into Cubase that gave users a simple interface to trigger those articulations with. Avid have yet to implement anything similar but, if you know what expression mapping is at its core, it’s easy enough to implement a similar system with, possibly, a bit more flexibility.
