Meet the Pro Tools Answers Team
Dave Phillips
Dave has been working in the industry full since the age of 18 as a musician, engineer and entrepreneur. He graduated School of Sound Recording in Manchester in 2005 and soon after began teaching for Academy of Music in Southampton.
He became a certified Expert for Pro Tools in 2013 and a Certified Instructor for Pro Tools a few months later, leading the 100 level courses for Academy of Music, for which he also managed. He graduated his BA in 2014 with a First with Hons in Performance Industries and has recently graduated University of Law.
Alongside producing Pro Tools Answers, he spends his time playing with, managing and tour managing dS:uK – In tribute to Dire Straits, producing local artists in his private Production Studio at home in Southampton and lecturing for Point Blank in London.
He also performs with Seriously Collins Tribute band.
Away from music, he spends his time collecting Retro games and consoles, playing Xbox and Nintendo, playing board games or training martial arts.
Anders Motz
Anders Motz was born in Stockholm, Sweden. He has been a Music- and Audio Production teacher since 2002. In 2010 he became an Avid Certified Pro Tools Instructor. He has been a lecturer at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and trained hundreds of Certified Pro Tools Users, Operators and Experts all over Europe.
In 2014 Anders moved with is wife and kids to Austria to start Tonkraftwerk. Tonkraftwerk has quickly become the leading Avid Learning Partner for professional clients in central Europe. He teaches all Pro Tools courses from beginner to expert level, for both Music and Post production, Game Audio and S6.
When not teaching Pro Tools he writes and produces music for commercials, and does audio post production work. Anders is a lecturer at the University in Siegen, Germany.
Anders loves his charcoal griller, which he fires up at least once per week, all year round. Enjoys a good movie and a game night with friends.
Andy Hagerman
Andrew Hagerman has been a professional musician and teacher for the majority of his nearly 60 years. While studying at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois, MIDI and computer music were in their infancy, and Andy recognized the usefulness of these new technologies in aiding the creative process. He had a unique opportunity to learn these tools as they were being created and refined, and his quest for the best in audio and music technology ultimately led him to use and teach Avid’s Pro Tools.
Andy has a variety of experience as a performer, composer, arranger, and producer, including a stint as a musician for Walt Disney productions and composer and arranger on a wide range of music and post-production projects. He also has extensive educational experience, and has authored numerous books on music and audio production.
in 2005, he joined the training team at Avid Technology as Training Services Manager for the Asia-Pacific region (with his office based in Tokyo Japan, where he resides today). Currently serving as Avid’s worldwide audio curriculum manager, he continues to create content to inspire the next generation of creative professionals.
